BloodSpell DVDs now available!

THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOL!

Yes, finally, after about 4 months of work, we're able to offer the BloodSpell Special Edition DVD for download and burning. Sadly we can't offer a physical media version, 'cos we were told not to, so you'll have to burn it yourself.

However, if you do, you'll get:

  • The full feature film at DVD quality - by far the highest quality version available

  • 4 Commentaries, from the creative team, the pre-production team, the filming crew and the cast

  • Documentaries on the making of all aspects of BloodSpell, from initial brainstorming to final edit and release

  • Deleted scenes and parts of the original animatic for BloodSpell, with commentary from me, Hugh Hancock

  • We're very proud of this release, and we hope you enjoy it!

    Download it from here.

Congrats

This project has been a lot of fun and I am happy that it got its own happy ending. Heck, these days I watch all my DVDs from hard disk.
Can't wait till the download is finished. :-)

Regards,
Andre

Re: Congrats

I think I have one more good reason for having bought the 32" LCD TV. The downside is that I see all the rendering errors of the earlier scenes in more detail. But it's stunning to watch nonetheless.

Too bad I do not have a printer to print out the labels and package work. I'd have loved to put a packaged BloodSpell DVD in my collection. Ah, well, the medium becomes less important all the time. Cool box art, though.

Rock on, guys. Can't wait to learn of your new project.

Regards,
Andre

Re: Congrats

Mail me your home address - I'll stick some printed DVDs (blank) and a label in the post.

Fantastic Work

Just one question... when will you release it on Blu-ray?

AARGH! :)

Nah, we can't - didn't shoot in HD.

Sorry!

Re: trailers

Weird. Anyone else had this problem?

They work fine on my test machine, so I'm really not sure what could be going on there. Do you have any other errors?

If you want to see the trailers, BTW, you can see one from the "Watch" page and the other at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PfBPjd3d4c

Checksums, BT

Hugh, can we possibly get checksums for the ISOs?

Also, any chance of getting BitTorrent set up? (Apparently the elusive Anachronox DVDs are on TPB, in case you were wondering.)

Other than that, awesome work at [finally] getting this done!

Re: Checksums, BT

Bittorrent - the short answer is "no", I'm afraid. I don't have anyone wlling to seed them with a fat enough pipe (at normal DSL upload speeds these would take about 2 days each to download fully), I can't afford the bandwidth bills (it'd cost me more than $2 per download of the DVDs for initial seeding, and I've got to consider than they might get BoingBoinged or whatever) for a commercial provider to do it, and I can't do it here because I use my internet connection for other things!

If anyone else wanted to set up a torrent, I'd be happy to link to it.

Checksums - I'll look into it.
